On this day of reflection and learning, CARB-TCMPA stands with Indigenous peoples across Canada in recognizing the significance of Truth and Reconciliation.
As an alliance of the regulatory bodies for Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture, we acknowledge the profound contributions of Indigenous healing practices and their parallels with holistic approaches to health.
We believe in the value of integrating culturally relevant healing into healthcare systems. Traditional Chinese Medicine, like many Indigenous traditions, honours the wisdom of natural remedies, balance, and holistic well-being.
As we reflect on the path to reconciliation, let’s continue to learn from and support Indigenous knowledge in health and healing. Together, we can create a more inclusive and culturally respectful healthcare system for all.
On this day, it is also worth revisiting the In Plain Sight report addressing Indigenous-specific racism and discrimination in B.C. health care and the importance of cultural safety and humility in the provision of care to all Canadians.
