The CARB-TCMPA Board of Directors has approved a 3% fee increase for the Pan-Canadian Examinations (PCE), which will take effect for the April 2025 administration of the examinations. This increase is necessary to offset the impacts of inflation on the development and administration of the PCE Program.
The PCE Steering Committee and Board of Directors conducted a thorough review of fee benchmarking data from 14 organizations responsible for the delivery of 21 national entry-to-practice examinations in the healthcare sector. Given that the PCE Program is designed to be cost recovery, the Board considered the rising costs associated with examination development and administration, as well as the potential impact on examination candidates. To address inflation and mitigate the risk of a larger fee increase in the future, a 3% increase was deemed necessary.
The new examination fees are outlined below:
Examination | 2025 Fees |
---|---|
Acupuncturists | $942 |
TCM Herbalists | $942 |
TCM Practitioners | $1,295 |
